@Ene As much as I enjoy collecting them, ultimately in the end it's "Rock-paper-scissors for retards" which has been further dumbed down to spoonfeed the player
@Ene It gets a bit better when you get to the wild area, but that's really the only part of the game that's fun to me and it's a small fraction of the game.

@Arkana @Ene there's a fanmod that is pretty good, i letsplayed part of it a while ago. thing is, the gyms are much harder there and you don't get access to the pokes you need because of the way the game locks them behind gym badges

ultimately i set it down too because the storyline cutscenes were too annoying. unfortunately the devs said they cannot remove them because of how the software is written. it doesn't help that it suffers from the same issues endemic now in vidya, ene touched on some of them.
