Looking into the wikia it states that her personality (and likely that of the author) was driven by Libertarianism, which explains a lot
I want to enjoy Tanya, but I can't stand the way she lies constantly for the sake of selfishness. I don't know if that changes later or not

@waifu I tried making some homemade jerky before and it was alright. It's hard to make sure it's cooked the right amount. You need to add the right kind of flavouring too
@waifu If I have a bag of beef jerky I can't help but eat it basically all at once. Since it's expensive I can't have them very often.

A person's demeanour and behaviour dictates a large amount of their appearance. If somebody's appearance is poor, it's likely due to a deficiency in their past behaviour.
@hourmutt The way I would say it is that every group has their leaders and followers. Even if somebody doesn't have the capacity to lead they can still be a good follower, and if you only tried to have leaders then the group would quickly break from everybody trying to lead it in different directions.
