I would do some studies of images or characters you like and try to replicate some parts of them. You need to work from references before creating things from imagination

@AR-15 @Sterence The type of captcha depends on the site too. On one I go to recently you can see they are clearly showing generated images of airplanes, they very often look fucked up and nonsensical.
