@happypirate @Free_Idealist @nobullyplz Yeah in a healthy society people wouldn't need to turn to things like speedrunning or grinding in MMOs. These people CLEARLY want to do work or practice getting better, but don't you think they would do it in a way that earns them money or helps people if they could?
Video games are simply the easiest way to fulfill those desires when the rest of society has no desire to give people real opportunities.
It's not just about "applying yourself" if it takes hundreds of applications to even get a shitty minimum wage job where the bosses and other employees don't want you around.
