confusedretard how do I back up shit on my phone (Pixel 6) before I install a custom ROM I am a retard and the nice calyx guide does not mention anything

@sam copy everything to a folder you will never check (i do that)

@sam Have your tried syncthing? you can sync your files with your computer if you have an internet connection, the only problem is that android file organization is a bit confusing, but it shouldn't be too hard if you want to backup pictures and downloads

@elliemortem I have a nextcloud server so I have images and my massive manga collection are safe, I was more thinking about things like contacts, phone calls and the like

@sam If you figure it out please let me know because I haven't had the chance to figure this out either... Also did you determine calyx is the best option? I still never figured out what I should use.

@icscarythings I have a pixel 6 so my options are really limited, and since I don't like the graphene dev Calyx essentially wins by default

@icscarythings also graphene doesn't support microG and I need microG

@sam I installed just plain Lineage on my dad's phone (also pixel) a while back to just get him off stock android since he was really pressuring me to do it for him, but i never did get microg to work on there even after trying everything I could find. So I gave up because he's a boomer and doesn't use many apps anyways and was willing to settle, but for me would be not acceptable either. It's part of why I got discouraged from installing a custom rom at all, but I also didn't know about the ROMs other than LinageOS at the time so hopefully its just a problem exclusive to lineage.
